Mr. Henke

Lars, who teaches 3rd grade at Bishop, begins his 2nd year at Brightstart and 5th year teaching at the elementary level in Massachusetts. Prior to moving to Arlington, Lars taught grades 4, 5, and 6 in Acton at Douglas Elementary School, which focused on project based learning. He got his masters of elementary teaching degree 2017 from Brandeis University after volunteer teaching in Lesotho and Thailand.

The cornerstone of Lars's teaching is the social emotional wellbeing of the students; they need to be in a place where they feel safe, valued, and heard in order to to learn. That philosophy is the bedrock of all of my lessons.

Lars loves playing and watching sports, spending time with his dog (Bailey), and exploring all that New England has to offer!
